Description: Insignia Federal Group is a professional consulting firm headquartered in Northern Virginia. We currently have a great opportunity for a web/software developer with solid Section 508 accessibility compliance and remediation experience. This project is for a U.S. federal agency and will be conducting an independent audit of the agency’s four primary legacy IT systems utilizing the DHS Trusted Tester (TT) methodology framework. In this position, the web/software developer will work with the project manager, user interface (UI) 508 tester, and technical writers to assess each system as to whether they pass compliance or not, develop detailed technical remediation steps, and collaborate with other team members to estimate timelines and costs associated with remediation of each system.

Required Qualifications: MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN OR AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN U.S. The candidate must have at least 3 to 5 years experience with web-based and software development programming (Java, Cold Fusion, .NET, Javascript, HTML, XML, CSS) and database (Oracle and SQL) technologies. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or other relevant field preferred. Must be detail-oriented with strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills. Must have ability to coordinate, prioritize, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced atmosphere with minimal supervision. Must have the ability to write and understand code specifications with a strong understanding of Section 508 best practices. DHS Trusted Tester certification required.

Description: Insignia is accepting résumés for a part-time Employment Workshop Facilitator/Career Transition Trainer in the location listed above. As a Facilitator/Trainer you will conduct transition workshops for military service members and dependents to assist and prepare them for their return to the civilian workforce. Each workshop is three days in length (weekday, daytime hours). Workshops are requested as needed, and vary depending on the individual demands of each site. This equates to approximately two workshops per month but may fluctuate. Recruitment is limited to the local commuting area, within 50 miles of the military installation/workshop site.

This could be an excellent opportunity for military spouses or veterans living in the area, or anyone who is interested in assisting future veterans during their transition.

Workshop curriculum is focused on areas including but not limited to: Self-Appraisal, Marketing Transferrable Skills, Career Decision Making, Résumé Preparation, Identifying Job Goals, Interviewing Skills, Job Search Techniques, Dress for Success, Translating Military to Civilian, Job Offer and Salary Negotiation

Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree; preferably in Training, Education, Human Resources, or related field; Three years training/facilitation experience; preferably in delivering employment related workshops; Comprehensive understanding of the U.S. labor market and public/private sector employment practices; Dynamic training style, ability to engage workshop participants (Note: A training demonstration will be required as part of the interview process.); Outstanding oral and written communication skills; Knowledge of the military and experience working with military clients is strongly preferred; Must have a Military ID or other document allowing easy access to military installations/buildings; Must have regular/consistent access to Internet/personal computer; additional use of scanner and/or fax machine may be required on occasion; Flexibility to travel to other military bases to deliver workshops preferred
